Listing Guidelines
These guidelines help sellers create clear, honest, and successful listings, and help buyers trust what they see on the Platform.
1. Creating a Listing
When you create a listing, you must provide a title, description, price, category, condition, and location. Categories include furniture, electronics, clothing, cars, home, sports, baby, books, and other. Conditions include new, like-new, good, fair, and salvage.
2. Listing Accuracy
- Use accurate titles and descriptions that match the item being sold.
- Use clear, truthful photos that accurately represent the item's condition.
- Set a realistic price in the supported currency. Prices must be in whole dollars or standard currency formatting.
- Disclose any damage, defects, or flaws in the item.
- Do not list the same item in multiple categories or with misleading keywords.
3. Honest Conduct
Listing an item you do not actually own, misrepresenting an item's condition, or using stock photos without permission is prohibited. We may remove any listing that violates these guidelines.
4. Selling Responsibilities
Sellers are responsible for accurately describing their items and fulfilling commitments. When a sale is completed, the listing status may be updated to "sold" to reflect that the item is no longer available.
Prohibited Items
The following items and services may not be listed or sold on Reflac. This list is not exhaustive and may be updated at any time.
| Category | Prohibited Items |
|---|---|
| Illegal Goods & Services | Any goods or services that are illegal to buy or sell in your jurisdiction |
| Weapons | Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and weapons of any kind |
| Drugs | Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and controlled substances |
| Stolen Property | Counterfeit, stolen, or unauthorized replica items |
| Personal & Financial Data | Any personally identifiable information, financial data, or account credentials of others |
| Harmful Content | Hate speech, discriminatory content, or content that promotes violence or harassment |
| Services | Services offered in exchange for payment on the Platform (the Platform is for physical goods only) |
Reporting Prohibited Items
If you believe a listing violates these prohibitions, report it to us at support@reflac.com or through the contact page. We review all reports and may remove listings and take action against offending accounts.
Offers & Negotiations
Reflac allows buyers to make offers on listed items. Offers let buyers and sellers negotiate a price before committing to a purchase.
1. Making an Offer
- You may make an offer on any active listing.
- You may not make an offer on your own listing.
- You may only have one pending offer on a given item at a time.
- Your offer must include a price in the supported currency. You may optionally include a message to the seller.
2. Seller Responses
Sellers may accept, reject, or ignore offers received on their listings. When a seller accepts or rejects an offer, you will receive a notification with the outcome. A rejected offer may be revised and resubmitted.
3. Good Faith
Offers should be made in good faith with the intent to complete a purchase if accepted. Repeatedly making and then abandoning accepted offers may result in restrictions on your account.
Payments & Billing
This policy explains how payments, fees, and taxes work on Reflac.
1. Payment Methods
- Cards: We accept major credit and debit cards processed through Stripe.
- PayPal: We accept payments through PayPal.
- Saved Cards: You may save cards to your account for faster checkout. Saved card details are tokenized and stored by our payment processors.
2. Service Fee
A service fee of 12.9% of the subtotal, with a minimum fee of $1.99, applies to purchases made on the Platform. The fee is shown at checkout before you confirm your payment.
3. Sales Tax
Where applicable, sales tax is calculated on the subtotal at the rate in effect for your location (currently 8.25% by default) and added to your total at checkout.
4. Total Calculation
Your total at checkout is calculated as follows: subtotal + service fee + sales tax. The itemized breakdown is always displayed before you confirm payment.
5. Boost Payments
Payments for boosted listings are charged at the published boost price for the selected tier. Boost payments are non-refundable and are not subject to a service fee.
6. Failed or Declined Payments
If a payment is declined or fails to process, the transaction will not be completed and the listing will not be marked as sold. You will be notified, and you may retry the payment using another method.
Boosted Listings
Boosted listings give sellers additional visibility by featuring their items more prominently. This policy explains how boosting works.
1. Boost Tiers & Pricing
| Tier | Price | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Featured | $4.99 | Highlighted placement and a "Featured" badge |
| Premium | $9.99 | Enhanced placement with a "Premium" badge |
| Spotlight | $19.99 | Top placement with a "Spotlight" badge |
2. Display & Rotation
Boosted listings appear at the top of search results and are rotated to give each boosted listing fair exposure. A limited number of boosted listings are displayed at any time.
3. Review & Approval
Boost payments may be reviewed before activation. In some cases, boosting may be configured for automatic approval, and boosted listings are subject to removal if they violate our listing guidelines.
Refund Policy
Reflac handles refund requests for eligible completed payments. This policy explains the conditions and calculations that apply.
1. Refund Window
Refund requests must be submitted within 24 hours of the original payment. Requests submitted after the window has expired will be declined.
2. Eligibility
- Only payments with a "succeeded" status are eligible for refund.
- Only the account that made the payment may request a refund for it.
- A payment may not have an existing pending refund request.
- Boost payments are not eligible for refunds.
- A payment that has already been fully refunded is not eligible.
3. Refund Calculation
Refunds are calculated as follows:
- A minimum refund of 20% of the original payment amount applies.
- A processing fee of 10% is deducted from the refunded amount.
- The net refund is credited back to your saved card or original payment method.
| Step | Calculation | Example ($100 payment) |
|---|---|---|
| Original amount | Payment subtotal | $100.00 |
| Minimum refund (20%) | original × 20% | $20.00 |
| Processing fee (10%) | min refund × 10% | $2.00 |
| Net refund | min refund − fee | $18.00 |
4. Request Limits
Users may request a maximum of 3 refunds per day.
5. Review & Processing
Refund requests are subject to admin review and approval. You will be notified via email and in-app notification once your refund is processed, approved, or rejected. If a refund is rejected, a reason will be provided.
6. Effect on Listings
Once a payment is fully refunded, the related listing status may be updated accordingly.
Ratings & Reviews
Ratings and reviews help buyers choose trustworthy sellers. This policy explains how the rating system works on Reflac.
1. How Ratings Work
- Buyers may leave a rating and review for a seller after a successful purchase or offer payment.
- Ratings are on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.
- A minimum payment amount of $1.00 is required to leave a rating.
- You may not rate your own payment or rate yourself.
- Boost payments may not be rated.
2. When You Can Rate
Ratings can only be submitted within 30 days of the listing creation date. Only one rating may be left per completed payment.
3. Rating Removal
We reserve the right to remove ratings and reviews that violate our community guidelines, including fake reviews, spam, or abusive content. Admin decisions on rating removal are final.
Favorites
The Favorites feature lets you save listings you are interested in so you can find them again later.
1. Saving Listings
You may save any active listing to your favorites. Saved listings appear in your favorites list on your profile.
2. Availability
Favoriting an item is not a purchase or a hold. If the item is sold or the listing is removed, it will no longer be available even if it remains in your favorites.
3. Removing Favorites
You may remove any listing from your favorites at any time through your favorites list.
Messaging & Communication
Reflac provides in-app messaging to help buyers and sellers communicate about listings.
1. How Messaging Works
Buyers can start a conversation with a seller through the contact seller feature. Conversations are associated with your account and may be accessed from your message history.
2. Appropriate Use
- Use messaging to discuss listings, offers, and purchases.
- Do not send spam, scams, harassment, or unsolicited promotional content.
- Do not share personal financial information such as full card numbers in messages.
- Do not attempt to complete transactions outside the Platform's secure payment system.
